There are no new tricks to success in the the concrete industry. Growth usually occurs for concrete contractors when times are good, but it is the contractors that have appreciated the growth with an attitude of sustainability that whether the harder times.

There are several contributing factors to a contractors success through these times. Some factors point to an active diversification of industries, others point to efficient cash flow practices, setting aside a little for the lean years, but lets consider another factor. The factor of tradition, the tradition to uphold the highest standards in an industry for the sake of just doing the right thing.

Martinez’s business practices have never wavered - build the best product available at an affordable price. It is a commitment to the trade that carries the weight during these challenging times. Our commitment to our workers, to upholding the standards that we have worked hard to create are all at the forefront of the decisions we make to stay active in our trade. New work, industry involvement, and a commitment to our client has always been our tradition and those same principles apply in our ability to create an atmosphere and corporate culture built on sustainability -through thick or thin.

+Safety: a real life story:
One month ago during Southern California's first heat wave, Martinez was faced with the opportunity to put its heat illness prevention program into use.  During the mid-day heat, a city inspector was overcome by the initial symptoms of heat illness on a Martinez jobsite.  Full-time, safety officer, Richard Martinez, quickly worked under the guidelines that we had set forth to react accordingly and provide the necessary assistance to the inspector.  Martinez says, "if the training had not been at the forefront of our everyday attention to safety, I probably wouldn't have seen the signs and or I may have made a wrong decision in aiding with the inspectors relief."  We are proud to have been able to provide the correct preventative and reactive measures. Having been diligent in our approach to safety we were able to help a fellow member of our industry, and keep the jobsite safety record clean.THE FACTS: Our safety program has been treated as a full scale department for over 8 years.  We have a designated safety officer that visits job sites everyday to assure that our policies and procedures are being implemented and observed by each and every employee.  Here are just a few of the programs and certifications that we have established and continue to obtain.

1. Heat Illness Prevention Program
2. All Foremen, Cal-OSHA certification
3. All Foremen, CPR certified
4. Full Time safety officer
